About Me
Originally from the sunny island of Singapore, Carina draws her inspiration from the illustrations of her childhood. From children’s storybooks to colourful animations, she yearns to understand how music can portray different characters and moods, especially in the face of adventure. Her journey began at the piano, where she learned the importance of not only reading notes, but listening to them as well. From there, she explored various bands and ensembles, picking up the flute, which fuelled her love for orchestration.
At 19, Carina took an internship at a post production studio, Mocha Chai Laboratories, in order to better herself to be skilled in working with films. At 21, she entered the California Institute of the Arts, majoring in Composition and Experimental Sound Practices, with a full scholarship from the Infocomm-Media Development Authority of Singapore. With such exciting adventures ahead, Carina hopes to further hone her skills as a composer and collaborator, in order to further pursue her passion of writing music for film and animation.
